I have worked with children, youth and families since 1981 in various settings and have a strong passion for helping others to live their best lives. I believe that it takes tremendous courage to seek support in life and value the trust that my clients place in me when they share their personal struggles.

Coming prepared with well over a decade in the mental health field, I am experienced in facilitating others’ abilities to expand their adaptive coping skill sets, examine emotional and relational patterns, resolve problems and invest in themselves via the therapy process

As a counsellor, I am passionate about helping individuals facing life transitions, mental health concerns or coping problems. I believe that each individual has within themselves the power and the ability to make whatever changes necessary to improve their life experience. I will work alongside you to help create meaningful and lasting change in your life.

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist and in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I have over 5 years of experience working in a variety of clinical settings including non-profit organizations, different school settings, family and community clinics, and private practice.

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist who is passionate about helping children, youth, and young adults with emotional, academic, and behavioural difficulties. I have been working in private practice for the past 6 years and am in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I have extensive experience working with a wide variety of childhood disorders and presenting issues both in the school system as well as in private practice.

My name is Rachel Chapman, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I obtained my Bachelor of Child and Youth Care degree in 2010 from Grant MacEwan University, followed by my Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in 2021. Following graduation, I have worked closely with high-risk youth who were facing adversity through circumstances such as homelessness, addictions, attachment issues, teen pregnancy, trauma, abuse, mental health issues, 2SLGBTQI+ issues, and legal issues.

I believe in people, their ability to change, improve, better their lives, and get to know themselves and their gifts. We all need connection, gentle listening, and a safe space to share our stories. Since I can remember, I have wanted to be a psychologist; it is my calling, and I am happy to walk alongside others on this journey of healing and growing.

My passion for psychology started in 11th grade, as I remember sitting in AP Psychology being in awe of human sciences and its evolution. After successfully completing my Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle, and through the experience of my Internship, I feel passionate when saying that a person’s therapeutic journey starts with attachment and security.

I have completed my master’s studies in social work and have demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in the specialization of prevention, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in the field of mental health. I work from a trauma informed lens and establish genuine relationships with my clients that evokes empathic understanding, non- judgement, and safety.

I am currently completing my Masters of Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. During my internship, I will provide counselling and psychotherapy to children, teens, and adults.
