My name is Sara Gidosh and I am a registered clinical social worker (RCSW). I have completed my master’s studies in social work and have demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in the specialization of prevention, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in the field of mental health. I work from a trauma informed lens and establish genuine relationships with my clients that evokes empathic understanding, non- judgement, and safety.
My assertion is we are not defined by our past or what has happened to us and the greatest gifts we can give ourselves are compassion, acceptance, and hope. I have been a practising therapist since 2014. I draw on strategies from various modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion focused therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, solution focused therapy, and narrative practice.
I am also certified in EMDR. I have experience with a wide range of presenting concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment injury, stress, emotional dysregulation, body image, and more. I am honoured to be invited to listen to people's stories as they begin on their path towards healing and to witness in the discovery of their most authentic sense of self.
Our work together begins where you are at in your journey and is guided by your insight, values, and life goals. Resiliency is inherent in each of us, and it demonstrates immense strength to choose the uncertainty of change, strive for personal growth, and to let go of what is no longer serving us.
