I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I have worked with
children, youth and families since 1981 in various settings and have a strong passion for helping others to live their best lives. I believe that it takes tremendous courage to seek support in life and value the trust that my clients place in me when they share their personal struggles.
I have worked with clients of different cultures, abilities and ages, including specialized experience working with high-risk youth and their families.
As a counsellor, I am passionate about helping individuals facing life transitions, mental health concerns or coping problems. I believe that each individual has within themselves the power and the ability to make whatever changes necessary to improve their life experience.
I will work alongside you to help create meaningful and lasting change in your life. I have a personal interest in treating depression and anxiety, however, more than that, I have an interest in helping individuals evolve into the person they want to be.
At each step in life, I think we do the best we can. When struggling, it can feel like we’re not doing enough. Sometimes we don't see ourselves as enough, period. In these seasons, life can feel overwhelming and lonely. I see counselling as an opportunity to accompany you through these times. I believe good therapy begins with an open, trusting relationship. As a result, I try to create a space where you can fully express yourself. Angry, numb, dejected (and anything else!) – your reactions, feelings, and thoughts are welcomed.
My name is Jordan Olischefski, Registered Provisional Psychologist, and I look forward to collaborating with you! Coming prepared with well over a decade in the mental health field, I am experienced in facilitating others’ abilities to expand their adaptive coping skill sets, examine emotional and relational patterns, resolve problems and invest in themselves via the therapy process
In my work as a therapist, I help clients shift from just surviving to thriving. My focus is on creating safe trauma-informed spaces; meeting clients where they are at in life; and inspiring a compassionate curiosity about who we are how we might have arrived here, and what else might be possible. I help clients struggling with issues related to stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, parenting, relationships, mood disorders, and chronic illness/pain.
